Microwave ovens are simple. There are two variables, time and effort, but it seems impossible for a user-friendly (or even users, of course) interface. Therefore, the microwave designers are idiots. Well, not all. I actually stumbled on two furnaces with intuitive user interfaces. Two out of hundreds. So I would say, a fraction of a percent of these designers may be trained designer and / or a dose of common sense.
