Why Cook Bacon in the Microwave?

If you are short on time but you would like to have a snack how about cooking up some bacon strips, which can be made in less than 5 minutes. Most population would not think using the microwave oven to cook bacon but surprisingly it makes a good job of producing excellent strips of crispy bacon.

Less washing up and cleaning

Microwave Oven

The whole process of cooking bacon in a microwave oven, should take less than 5 minutes depending on the power of your oven, thickness of the bacon and the whole of bacon you cook at the same time. You will find that the whole process will be a lot cleaner as you are not using a frying pan to cook the bacon on the stove there will be less washing up. Also you will not have to clean up fat splatters on your stove top either.

Healthier

When bacon is cooked in the microwave the process calls for the strips to be placed onto paper towel, and as it cooks the paper will suck in the fat leaving your bacon with less fat and therefore will have fewer calories than bacon cooked in a skillet.

How to cook nice crispy bacon.

It should be mentioned that you can buy special microwave bacon cookers, but these are just not necessary. It is easy to use an commonplace dinner plate (microwave safe) with three layers of paper towel placed on the plate bottom. Then lay out up to 6 bacon slices onto the paper, making sure they don't over lap. Then cover the slices with an additional one incorporate of layers of paper towel.

Six slices will regularly take about 4 minutes to cook on high, but because there is such a wide range of microwaves on the shop with distinct power ranges I would advise that you consult the manufacturer's by hand to see what times they recommend. I would err on the side of caution and check at one or two limited intervals to ensure that the bacon is not burning. Once the cooking time has fulfilled, leave the bacon for about a limited or so to crisp up and lay down flat.

The method is for real as easy as that, and now you can use your cooked bacon in a whole host of recipes, from sprinkling on top of a Caesar salad to adding to your burger stacks. I any way just like to keep it easy and put the bacon in the middle of two slices of bread and butter and eat.

With a method this quick and easy I am sure you will always want to cook you bacon this way.
