Microwaves ovens are categorically a nice invention for us lazy humans. It speeds up the heating process for food so that we can whether get more done with our time or relax a miniature more. These awesome miniature machines were first invented in the 1940's by an engineer named Percy Spencer. He was working on radars for a firm named Raytheon when he noticed that a chocolate bar in his pocket was melting. He later discovered that it was from the microwaves emitted by the radar.
After doing testing He was able to harness the power of microwaves in a box that would heat up food very quickly. Thus was born the microwave oven.

When they first hit the shop they were tremendously expensive. When I tell you these prices remember to take into inventory inflation too. In the early 1950's convection microwave ovens cost 00-00 a piece. Mind-blowing isn't it that now we can go pick up a simple microwave oven for at the local Wal-mart.
Microwaves are great for reheating leftover and for heating up a quick meal when you're on the go. What I find spicy is how a whole segment of the food industry is now focused on tailoring their products specifically for the microwave. You could eat every meal based on food products made for just the microwave oven. It categorically wouldn't be very healthy but it would be quick:)
These days there are quite a few brands of microwave ovens out there and they're all pretty similar. Its not like there are premium microwaves anymore, and if there are you're whether only paying for a brand or some fancy materials... I personally have gold encrusted buttons on my microwave ;)
If you're looking to purchase a microwave be sure to check out my website where I tell all the microwaves on the shop and get reader responses as well. Even though they are pretty much a staple these days you'll still want to make sure you're getting one that will last you a while.
